ABOUT US

Central High/Tri-C CDS is a continuous enrollment, alternative education school. We offer 9th-12th grade coursework within two components: Central High School (a continuation school) and Tri-C CDS (a community day school). We have twenty-five sites located in communities throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District.

As a dropout prevention program, Central High/Tri-C is the largest multi-site Educational Options school in LAUSD. Students receive individualized graduation plans, a standards-based A-G curriculum, college counseling, and encouragement to explore career and technical education training in a smaller class environment. Central High also provides a work experience program, serving students who have full-time employment. These students attend school two nights each week and on Saturday mornings for a total of six hours.

Upon completion of all required classes, students earn a LAUSD high school diploma.

Central High/Tri-C was granted a full six-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in 2022. We were named a California Model Continuation School in 2020.

Welcome From Principal Robert Jeffers

Principal Robert Jeffers

Welcome to Central High School/Tri-C and the 2022-23 school year.  For the past 4 years, I have had the honor of serving our students, families, communities, and staff as either Assistant Principal or Principal. I’m looking forward to working with all of you; remember, please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need have any questions or concerns.

Central High / Tri-C CDS is a special place for students and staff alike. Our focus on providing a rigorous, standards-based, and culturally and linguistically informed curriculum will continue throughout the year, by building positive relationships, student and parent engagement, and comprehensive support.

Our three “big buckets” that informed and guided our work during the last school year will continue in 2022-23 as we work to serve our students and their communities while meeting the priorities outlined in LAUSD Superintendent Carvalho’s Strategic Plan. These three big buckets include:

§  Project-Based Learning through Culturally & Linguistically Relevant Curriculums;

§  Prioritizing Socio-Emotional Learning, Wellness, and Health; and

§  Engaging communities, families, and partner organizations.

Through this purposeful approach, we continue to position ourselves as an exemplary California Model Continuation School with a recent six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and a true Community-Centered School that serves more than 20 unique neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles.

I look forward to serving all our communities and working with our team to offer diverse opportunities for our students who deserve to succeed and earn a degree that prepares them for college, career, and the opportunities and challenges life presents.

Please follow us on Instagram [ @central_tric ] for consistent updates of important information, events, and more. We’ll continue to keep you informed on our website and social medias regarding details on the upcoming school year.

We’re looking forward to seeing you return to school. Best wishes for a productive and successful year!

Sincerely,

Robert Jeffers

Central High / Tri-C CDS Principal

§ aprendizaje basado en proyectos a través de currículos cultural y lingüísticamente relevantes;

Sinceramente,

Robert Jeffers
